The Cowtown Chew Spotlight: Rollin' n Bowlin'
by: Erica Batterman & Kelti Haley
Happy 2019, Cowtown! We've got some exciting news for you foodies, and the best part - it won't interfere with your healthy New Year resolutions!
Quite the opposite actually, last month the once acai bowl & smoothie food-truck, Rollin' n Bowlin', debuted a new storefront at the Crockett Row Food Hall on West 7th! We were excited and honored to get a sneak peek at of some of RnB's most popular menu items. Read on to hear what we thought about each!
Super Monkey Bowl:
The description of this bowl jumped right off the menu board and straight into my heart eyes. And to my delight, it did not disappoint in the least!
The Super Monkey Bowl is crafted with a perfect ratio of delicious layers, each layer bringing its own texture and flavor. From bottom to top, the Super Monkey Bowl starts with a layer of RnB's locally sourced granola, next a generous layer of blended acai, banana, mixed berries, pineapple, and coconut water, followed by another layer of granola, and then topped off with sliced strawberries & banana, coconut, and chia seeds. You can also ask for a drizzle of nutter butter on top if you're feeling fancy!
With no added sugar, this bowl has the perfect amount of natural sweetness, and its texture is that perfect level of smooth - not too runny and not too icy. The Regular size (16 oz) is filling enough to serve as a meal, and the Snack size (9 oz) is the perfect post-workout snack or sweet treat! I'd eventually love to try all of RnB's bowls, but I know that the Super Monkey Bowl will certainly be on my short-list rotation!
How To Train Your Dragon:
Just like the Super Monkey Bowl, this bowl is naturally sweetened, and oh so delicious. The blend of pitaya, banana, strawberries, pineapple, & apple juice, gives you all the tropical fresh feels, and I just love the hot pink color from the pitaya, which is the star ingredient in this bowl!
Not only is it vibrant, but pitaya is also incredibly rich in antioxidants and vitamin C! It’s topped with more locally sourced granola, kiwi, banana, coconut, and chia seeds. Again, the Regular size ( 16 oz) is perfect for a meal on its own, but don’t forget they have snack size ( 9 oz ) options as well!
Minty Chip Smoothie:
Ok, y’all, it’s so hard to pick a favorite, but If you were to ask me, I would say this Holiday Minty Chip Smoothie would be it!!
Have you ever had a peppermint mocha milkshake from Chick-fil-a? Well, this tastes just like it, but it’s a HEALTHIFIED version! I’m so glad I tried this smoothie.
It will have you craving it even in these cooler temperatures. Check it out, it only has peppermint extract, cacao nibs, banana, pineapple, spinach, and almond milk. This can come as a bowl as well with granola. coconut, and strawberries for the toppings.
BUT HURRY, it’s their holiday special and will most likely be gone by the end of January!
PLUS, RnB is adding something deliciously new to their menu! Drum roll
LOADED TOAST! Who doesn't drool at the sound of avo or nut butter on top of Great Harvest's local Dakota multigrain bread?
As of TODAY, January 4th, RnB is serving their new "All I've Avo Wanted" and "Nuts For Nanners toast!"
The savory crowd will jump for joy at the "All I've Avo Wanted" toast which is topped high with avocado, tomato, red pepper flakes, feta cheese, arugula, Everything But The Bagel seasoning, cracked black pepper, and extra virgin olive oil.
Those with a sweet tooth will drop everything and run for the "Nuts For Nanners" toast which is loaded with your choice of almond or peanut butter, chia seeds, banana, honey, and cinnamon.
We absolutely cannot wait to try these new menu items!
Don't take our word for it, go try RnB for yourself at their new Crockett Row Food Hall location at 3000 Crockett St! We'll be frequent flyers so... see you there!
